From Lower School to Upper School
"You Can Do It Here!"
Welcome to the Sayre Athletic Department’s website. Spartan pride runs deep, and we continually strive to offer each student athlete the opportunity to compete at a high level and reap the rich personal rewards that come from being part of a team. Athletic programs at Sayre are vertically integrated allowing Lower School students to play team sports where the emphasis is on skill development and participation for the pure enjoyment of the game. In Middle School teams become more structured and interscholastic competition becomes a part of the athletic experience. Student athletes who reach the varsity level at Sayre have the opportunity to participate at the highest level of interscholastic High School competition. At every level of competition, the Sayre School Athletic Department’s open participation policy allows any student at Sayre willing to make the commitment to a team the opportunity to compete.
Our athletic teams are led by a talented and dedicated group of coaches. We are all committed to teaching and training the next generation of young men and women and preparing them for college and beyond. We understand that participation in athletics provides fertile soil for personal growth and meaningful character development and, in recognition of this fact, coaches focus as much of their attention on the process as they do on the results. Through sports, the Sayre Athletic Department endeavors to do its part in delivering on the school’s mission to provide an education of the “widest range and highest order”.
As a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA), Sayre High School teams compete against member schools of all size classifications. Sayre also competes as a member of the All-A in regional and state tournaments offered to smaller schools throughout the state of Kentucky. Our High School and Middle School teams also participate as members of the Bluegrass Conference which offers our teams the opportunity to compete against other smaller schools in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky.
